This part can be useful for newcomers to «the world of bets». Given information, probably, will help you to understand the main point in bets, avoid possible problems and mistakes in the process of betting.
Odds types: Decimal (European), Fractional (English), American.
Examples:
— Decimal (2.5 – bet100 $, 100*2.5=250 $, 250-100=150 $ net profit)
— Fractional (8/3 – bet 60 $, 60*8/3=160 $ net profit)
— American (+220 – net profit on placed 100$ will be 220$)
Below we’ll examine types of bet with decimal odds.
Bets on the outcome: 1, X, 2, 1X, 12, X2.
1 – the first team will win;
2 – the second team will win;
X – there will be a draw;
1X (X2) – the first (second) team won’t lose;
12 – the first (second) team will win (there won’t be a draw)
Under/Over: bets on exceeding (on not achievement) of some result in the game, usually it is bets on goals scored during the match.
For example, a bet is less 2.5 on goals scored during the match. It means that if during the game 2 goals or less are scored, you will win and otherwise the bet wouldn’t be right.
Handicap: the outcome is on condition of advantage for this or that team, it means that we buy some points for a weaker team (or we take them from a stronger team). For example, we bet on the team with fora +2.5 (or we buy the team 2.5 goals). If our team wins or loses with breakaway from its competitor not more than two goals, as a result, we’ll get the score, for example, not 0:2, but (0+2.5):2 and it means it’s a win with the score 2.5:2.
Both Handicap and Under/Over very often have different modifications, more complicated constructions, which are used in a wider list of outcomes.
Single bet and «express»
The majority of bookmakers give their customers an opportunity to make bets both on single events and on the series of sports events – «express».
If you choose «express», you can make bets on several outcomes, but every outcome must belong to different events. The «express» odds is equal to the odds multiplication of all events chosen by you (example: 2,1*3,45*1,4=10,143). If only one of the events doesn’t win, the whole bet is considered to be lost.
