Probably you’ve noticed that at majority of bookmakers several types of odds are used: decimal (2,4), fractional (3/4) and american (+140). And what to do if in a bookmaker line there is no such odds you get used to?!

In this article we’ll tell you what to do in such situation so that how to transform american and fractional odds into decimal odds.

 

Fractional odds (1/4, 4/3, 7/5)

In this case the odds show the amount of net profit to the total amount of a bet. So that, if you see “3/4“, it means that if your bet is won you’ll get the sum — “3/4“ of a bet amount.

In order to transform fractional odds into decimal odds it is necessary to put together a numerator and a denominator, and divide the production by a denominator. An example: “3/4“-> (3+4)/4= 7/4=1,75 or “7/5“ -> (7+5)/5=12/5= 2,4.

 

American odds (+120, +205, -110)

American odds are understood in the following way:

“+120“ – if you place a bet of 100 USD, net profit will be 120 USD;

“-110“ — to get the net profit of 100 USD, it is necessary to place a bet of 110 USD.

 

The transformation of american odds with the mark “+“ takes place in the following way: “+140“-> (140+100)/100=240/100=2,4 or “+105“ -> (105+100)/100=205/100=2,05.

The transformation of american odds with the mark “-“ takes place in the following way: “-125“ -> (125+100)/125=225/125=1,8 or “-150“ -> (140+100)/140=240/140=1,71.

Probably you’ve already noticed that “+“ points that the winnings will be more than a bet amount, and “-» points that the winnings will be less than a bet amount.
